"Gifts of State" challenges challenges students to look at maps and analyze, according to student level, the social, economic, and political implications of state gifts.

Selected by Amazon editors as one of the best of 2020, Berfield's book takes us back to when President Theodore Roosevelt and Banker J.P. Morgan battled in the courts to determine the balance of power between government and big business.
Susan Berfield is an award-winning feature writer and investigative reporter for Bloomberg Businessweek and Bloomberg News.
Dr. H.W. Brands, History Professor and Jack S. Blanton Sr. Chair at the University of Texas at Austin, will act as moderator.
